I've decided to take a break from DA after being absent due to ISP issues (I just had to kick a few butts so I could get my internet back up).

Between managing my website and my DA account, I prefer my website. Sorry, folks. Can't really manage two things (I fail at multitasking) without neglecting one of them. I'm sorry, folks.

I've been glued to my computer for a week or so coding and webdesigning.

Other than that, I've started to play RO again. *crycry*

First of all, Happy Chinese New Year all~~

I'm finally on vacation and I have more time to make props and such. I'm currently working on Link's Master Sword ... two of them. I'm going to cosplay Link again - and this time I'll have a friend cosplay DarkLink [Think of all the yaoi... xD I'm sick, I know]. So that explains  why I'm making two. Perhaps I could get some pictures up when I finish them. I'm really looking forward to this.

However, there is a bit of a problem. Today, I went out with my friend (who's cosplaying DarkLink) and my mum's friend (she helps me with the fabric and stuff) to buy fabric. It was awesome ~ we got caught by a light rain though.

At seven, my mom told me to tell my friend to go home. I thought it was because my parents wanted to close up [the restaurant] early for new years- and perhaps it is because of that... but then my parents asked me if my friend was from school. I told them that he wasn't - that I met him at a convention.

They freaked out and told me about those horror stories they read in the newspaper ever so often and tell me about the horrors of bringing a friend home to work on our costumes. That talk really discouraged me from inviting him over to my house again. I mean... it's not that bad right? Huh? I can have friends outside of school - huh?

I hate it when my parents are this paranoid.

My first group cosplay. I'm quite excited really. xD
I have no idea how to do my costume though. I really have to talk to the people who are involved in this... >:

Normally, I wouldn't rant about stupid things on my journal, but what happened to me today really pissed me off.

After coming home from school with my friends (I teach at school on Saturdays), I got ready to walk to the con/expo thing which was a few blocks away from my house - lucky me! We walked to McDonald's first to have some lunch before going. That was perhaps, one of the most interesting things  about today.

When we arrived, we had to pay $1 to get in the expo area. When we got to the building where the comic&animu thing was, they didn't let us in because the staff was "having lunch". We waited outside for 1 hour and 45 minutes before they finally brought the food for the staff. We were already pissed off when we walked in.

It was SHIT. I swear, this one was supposedly made by "pr0s" and was going to be better than the ones organized by those geeky animu-clans. I, personally, prefer those unprofessional cons... it's just more fun. We were looking around and saw some cosplayers sitting around. We were trying to decide if we were going to ask them take pictures with us or not. Suddenly, this FAT staff guy stood in front of us and took more than 1 minute to ask us to leave because we were supposedly blocking the way.

From then, I was very offended. Not only because of the staff's remarks (we were observing the cosplayers behind the stands), but because some of the cosplayers' heads were high up in the sky and they like... looked down on us- with this "I'm better than you" attitude. [Note, I'm not saying all the cosplayers. I met ~Friederike today. She was nice to us, so that was another pleasant thing....]

We didn't even stay in the expo/con for an hour and left... offended. That thing was such a rip-off.

I think we had more fun waiting for the con guys to let us in. We spent the whole time playing MarioParty (DS), so it was cool.

I am... 17.
I don't feel older though.

Spent the weekend with ~nennychan and took lotsa pictures, which are on my facebook. Harharhar.

OK, I have finally crawled out of my dark little burrow under a heavy rock and stopped playing a copy of Mario&Luigi: Partners in Time which does not belong to me and which I have been trying to finish asap so that I can return the game. 8D

Well. I need test subjects...eh... guinea pigs... mostly because I have no idea what to draw lately and I really think I should keep drawing. ;_; so that's my short sad story. Onto the good part, then?

Eh... I haven't updated this in such a long time. Mostly, I've been spending time on my blog, which I cleaned up about a week ago.

I've been busy ever since school started... again. My school year starts in April and ends in early January. I have a two week vacation in August.

Besides all the homework and such, I am trying to figure out which college/university to go to. I will prolly go to an art school after I graduate from high school, but my family is OBVIOUSLY against that idea, even though they say they are not.

Everyone thinks I'll end up on the streets sketching portraits for a small amount of cash. WTF. No, seriously. I am planning to study art and that's final.
Heh, my physics teacher was surprised that I wasn't going to try for the Physics IB program. He really wanted me to, because I have the "potential". Ack. No. Money. To. Get. Certificate.

Oh, talking about money. I'm kinda in a tight economic situation. My parents say they can barely pay for my education (I go to a private school) and that I should study here in Ecuador after I graduate because it's cheaper. Study art here? It's impossible. People here don't appreciate art enough. I'm serious. I don't see a future here. The best thing I could do about this is to TRY to [Daaaamn you physics!!] get good grades (despite the competition) and try to obtain a scholarship.
